Dr. Meherprasad Y. D, completed his MBBS from Madras Medical College in 1994 and subsequently moved to the United Kingdom.

He spent over 16 years there working across several renowned Centres of Excellence including Newcastle General Hospital, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Birmingham Heartlands, and Warwick University Hospitals, specialising in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Obesity.

With more than three years of Consultant experience in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine at Birmingham Heartlands University Teaching Hospital, he contributed significantly to both clinical care and research, and played a pivotal role in establishing a comprehensive weight management programme at one of the UK’s largest Weight Management Centres.

His research focuses on diabetes, obesity, metabolic disorders, and preventive healthcare. Key studies include the prevalence of mood and eating disorders in obese diabetic patients, the relationship between blood glucose variability and painful diabetic neuropathy, the changes in peripheral neuropathy with improvement in diabetes using insulin pump therapy and Comparison and safety of Meal replacement programmes for weight loss in South Asian, renal obese and diabetic patients.

Dr. Meherprasad has published extensively in reputed international journals, including Diabetes Care, Diabetic Medicine, Diabetologia, the House of Commons Healthcare Report (UK), and the European Journal of Haematology, and has presented his work at numerous national and international medical forums. Dr. Meherprasad is passionate about early detection and lifestyle modification and is dedicated to reducing the growing burden of diabetes, obesity, and other non-communicable diseases through holistic and preventive healthcare.
