Dr. Karthikeyan is an experienced neurologist in Adyar with over a decade of expertise in diagnosing and managing complex neurological conditions. He completed his undergraduate medical training at Rajiv Gandhi University, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine from Meenakshi University. He later pursued a DM in Neurology at Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, where he was awarded a Gold Medal for academic excellence, and further advanced his clinical skills through a fellowship in Interventional Neurology at MAX Hospital.

Dr. Karthikeyan specialises in endovascular revascularisation procedures, including percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stent placement involving the carotid, vertebral, and intracranial vessels. He is highly proficient in acute stroke management, particularly mechanical thrombectomy, using advanced devices such as stent retrievers and the Penumbra system in combination with thrombolytic therapy.

His expertise extends to a wide range of interventional neurological procedures, including the treatment and management of intracranial aneurysms using detachable coils, balloon remodelling techniques, stent-assisted embolisation, and flow diverter placement. He also has significant experience in managing cerebral arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, along with performing endovascular treatment for dural arteriovenous malformations through both arterial and venous approaches.

In addition, Dr. Karthikeyan has extensive experience in spinal and neurovascular interventions, including spinal angiography, AVM embolisation, tumour embolisation, and the treatment of cerebral vasospasm using vasodilators and angioplasty. He is also adept at embolisation procedures for carotid cavernous fistulas and tumours affecting the head and neck region.
